Spelling Connections
Gr 1 - Gr 5

Each week students are given a list of words and a spelling strategy. The spelling pattern is applied. The unit words are practiced in context in a variety of exercises including word meanings, antonyms, proofreading and writing.

Gr K - Gr 5

This writing program introduces the writing process and provides sound direction for a variety of writing forms. There is a student almanac at every level which is filled with friendly tips on a variety of topics – such as tracking down facts for a newspaper story, building vocabulary skills, writing poetry or giving a short talk.

The grammar program includes mini-lessons, practice workshops, and editing and proofreading exercises covering parts of speech, grammar, mechanics and usage.

Vocabulary
Gr 2 - Gr 5

Lessons begin dictionary style with alphabetized word lists and definitions and end with fascinating grade-appropriate nonfiction narratives that include the lesson words in context. A variety of exercises help students see how interesting words really are.

SRA Reading Labs
Gr K - Gr 5

This offers students an effective blend of quality fiction and non fiction selections supported by engaging reader-response activities to help them become better readers.

Phonics
Gr K - Gr 5

This program focuses on high frequency words, alphabetic awareness, phonological awareness, decoding strategies and skills.

Reading Comprehension
Gr 2 – Gr 5

This series introduces valuable skills giving short answers, recalling the main idea and details, sequencing and matching vocabulary words and their meaning.

Reading Detective will continue to be used in grades 3, 4 and 5.

Everyday Mathematics
Gr K - Gr 5

This series introduces students to all the major mathematical content domains – number sense, algebra, measurement, geometry, data analysis, and probability.

Home/Study Links are being set for homework to compliment class lessons. A student reference book is available in grades 3, 4 and 5 which explains all the key concepts.
